Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered.

The things authors ask us most, before they submit. If yours isn't here, we're only an email away.

How do I submit my manuscript?

Send your query by email to our submissions desk with a query letter, a one-page synopsis, your first ten pages, and a short author bio. The full step-by-step, including the exact subject-line format, lives on our submission guidelines page.

Does it cost anything to submit?

No. Reading and considering your submission is always free. Some of our optional services — such as an in-depth editorial assessment or author branding — are paid, but you'll never be charged simply to be read or considered for publication.

What genres are you looking for?

We're currently open to literary and upmarket fiction, thrillers and mystery, historical and book-club fiction, a broad range of nonfiction (memoir, narrative nonfiction, business, wellness, popular culture, and true crime), and middle-grade, young adult, and graphic novels. We're not accepting poetry, short-story collections, picture books, or academic texts at this time.

How long until I hear back?

Every submission that follows our guidelines is read and considered. If we'd like to see more, we'll reply to request the full manuscript. Because of the volume we receive, we can't always respond to every query — but a book that fits what we're looking for will get our attention.

Do you accept AI-generated manuscripts?

No. Real editors read real writing here. We don't consider machine-generated manuscripts, and we don't send machine-generated rejections either.

Can I submit to other publishers at the same time?

Yes — simultaneous submissions are welcome. We only ask that you let us know promptly if your manuscript is picked up elsewhere so we can update our records and free up reading time for other authors.

Do I keep the rights to my work?

We're an author-first house, and your rights are treated with respect. Specific terms are always laid out clearly in a written agreement before anything is signed — no surprises, no fine print designed to catch you out.

Can I get editing or feedback without publishing with you?

Absolutely. Our editorial assessment is available on its own — a professional, in-depth read with a written report — whether or not you ever publish with StoriqueHouse. Many authors use it to strengthen a manuscript before querying agents or self-publishing.

How do I get in touch with a real person?

Email us at info@storiquehouse.com, or use the form on our contact page. For manuscript submissions specifically, please follow the guidelines rather than the general contact form.

Still Curious?

We're happy to talk it through.

If your question wasn't answered here, reach out — a real member of the house will get back to you.
